Another Headcovering Testimony...

Today I discovered the sweet blog of  Nikka.  She is from the Philippines
and she practices head covering in accordance with I Cor. 11.
She started covering for church services only.
(actually - she is a born-again Catholic - so it is Mass for her.)
But now she wears scarves and bandanas all through out the week.
I just love her sweet obedience and her changed heart of being
more submissive and respectful to her husband.
Go read all about how she grew in this area on her Why I Cover My Head post.

And today I discovered your blog! I'm so very happy about that. I have been covering my head for about 2 1/2 years now and also wear skirts almost always. Only my best friend and I cover in our church and are looked on as being a bit "odd". I'm so thankful to have discovered your blog.
Blessings,
Betsy

Hi Betsy! So good to hear from you. Do you care to share w/ us a bit of your story that led to head covering? Especially when almost no one is doing it in your church?

The Lord bless you!

Hi Joyce, my story in a nutshell is that I had been feeling the Holy Spirit telling me I should be covering my head and I was totally rebellious for well over a year, actually closer to 2 years. I didn't want to be the only one covering and be "weird". I even got my hair cut at the most expensive place in town-and then ended up covering it up less than a week later. God has a sense of humor doesn't he? My best friend was SO excited for me and almost immediately began covering full-time too. She had wanted to cover for years but was constantly told it wasn't necessary anymore.

My husnpband had never given it much thought and so we studied it together. He agreed that it was something I should be doing.

The feeling of peace that I had when I first put a plain old bandana on my head, (that was all I had at the time), was unbelievable. I KNOW it's what God wants me to do and although my family and most of my friends don't like it or feel it's necessary, I won't stop wearing it.

Blessings,
Betsy

Hi Joyce!

I praise GOD for convicting me of this long lost tradition. It has really made my worship towards God more reverent and pious and my respect for my husband more apparent.

It is not a magic cloth, just to be clear of this. :) It is a beautiful symbolic reminder to always be humble before God and biblically submissive to one's husband. Scarves/bandannas/veils aside, it is really a matter of attitude of the heart and mind.

Thanks for the feature!

Your blog is wonderful. Will visit often.

God bless.
